This holiday was the best one yet. I actually almost (almost!) shed a tear at the airport because I wanted to stay.
We arrived on Friday at around 4pm and our spirits were lifted as it was just so warm, 28 degrees.
We took a bus to our hotel and were pleasantly surprised, I knew the hotel I had booked looked good but it’s always hard to tell, as soon as I walked in I knew I had done well as it was a huge room with an amazing view.
We got changed and went for a wander into the city, we had a few drinks, and met up with Jimmy at his bar. After a fair few amazing mojitos we walked home to get ready for our first dinner out.

I has researched a few nice places close to our hotel and was keen to get some authentic Spanish tapas. They didn’t let us down, though they were all rich they were all delicious, as was the Spanish wine.
We headed home a bit tipsy with full bellies ready to indulge in our massive king size bed- made a welcome change to our ¾ double at home.
Day two was another day of 28 degrees, we woke up and walked to the little township for breakfast though they couldn’t speak any English so ordering was a challenge, we ended up with fried eggs with bacon, and sausages and headed back to the hotel for a day at the pool. It was bliss, 5 hours on sun loungers- was just what we needed to unwind from the stresses, and cold of London.

Once the sun decided to hide from the pool we went up to the hotel room for a bit of a nap before getting ready for another evening out. Thought we would have a nice cheap dinner of fish and chips and a few yummy drinks, what was so great about this holiday was that neither of us wanted to have a party weekend, a few drinks and that was us.
While in the city Jimmy recommended we head to ABACO which was where we set off to after a few more mojitos and beers.

It was absolutely gorgeous, and was an awesome experience, once the extravagant cocktails was finished we took a walk to the cathedral, where we could hear music being played we were confronted with a crowd of people, there was a Spanish drumming group making a marvellous racket, after listening to them play for a while we set off for a night cap and wandered in the moonlight home past all of the super yachts.

Day three, yet another 28 degree day we headed to the beach, Cala Major was just around the corner from our hotel and was a beautiful sandy beach with clear refreshing water. Another day of lounging around and soaking up the sun, he headed home after a few hours and got ready for a nice dinner.

We had a nice dinner the first night, an yummy cheapo one for night two so wanted to have our last night to be special. I had heard about this restaurant where you choose your seafood fresh and the cook it up for you, unfortunately it was closed on Sunday evening.
The hotel reception said there was another highly recommended seafood restaurant close by so after sharing 2 bottles of wine on our balcony soaking up the view we headed off- I am glad things turned out the way they did as it was the nicest meal I had had in forever.
They had a fresh seafood bar there as well so we ditched the menus and took our pick. I chose a live lobster for my main, and Ben has a fresh Grouper done Mallorca style, we started with grilled octopus, and 2 scallops in a béchamel sauce- they were life changing and our entire meal, was absolutely to die for.

After we walked around for a while soaking up the views and sights we met up with Jimmy for one last lunch, and I had the clam spaghetti just to end my seafood fiesta. We headed back to our hotel, talking the longest way home possible, having a wander around the yachts.
There was something so depressing about having to leave- though we knew the weather was getting cooler neither of us wanted to leave.
We went to the airport and the adventure was over. We missed a huge storm in London too, over a hundred flights were cancelled from Heathrow but we were flying from Gatwick so had to leave the adventure behind.
We will definitely be back, we even talked about moving there next year for a few months before we travel home, we talked about buying a villa and spending summers there and summers in NZ for the rest of our days.
Its paradise, and we loved every second it was so lovely to just be in a beautiful setting, just the two of us making memories.
And now, after being back at work for 4 days I picked up a bit of a flu so have been stuck in bed... not the most fun thing getting back to London could have surprised me with!
