A year has passed. 365 days since we moved to London.
It’s been a ride that’s for sure, not sure I can say if I have loved it or if I have hated it.. but I can say that I am sad that we are already past the half way mark.
Travel wise we haven’t accomplished what I thought we would have, we have only been to Budapest, Amsterdam (me twice) Greece and Ben has been to Berlin. It’s an alright amount of places, but we haven’t really touched the edges of Europe. So for us, it’s important to get out there and see more.
We are off to Palma de Mallorca in 18 sleeps for our last summer holiday, and have to plan a Xmas/ New year adventure, though that will be it for 2013, as we have big plans for 2014.
Paris in April with my mum, Ireland in May with Ben’s parents, Boston and New York in June for a wedding, and to send us off an 8 week trip in July before heading home.
So far, I think we have made good friends, and really enjoyed our time. I enjoy my job- most of the time, and feel like I am really getting somewhere with this grown up career business we are all supposed to be doing now. Ben is out of recruitment, and loving it already. This last year has been a struggle, a laugh, a little homesickness, and a love of love.
This time of year is a good one, we still get the sunshine, and we really make the most of it, on Sunday Ben and I went for a walk through London Fields, had a pub lunch in the sun and had the best day, we fell in love with Autumn- though from what I can remember from last winter there isn’t much.
So as we continue with our living abroad, there are a few things we know, we know we are here for a good time, so are living it up. We know that 2 years is definitely not as long as it sounds so we need to make the most of every day. I know that when we get home this time next year we will look back at our time here, and be happy with what we accomplished and what we saw.
So thanks London for the last year, I look forward to all you can throw at us over the next 12 months.
xx
