My Goodbye

Today I was going to write a post about how much fun I had over the weekend with Ben and some of my friends in Amsterdam, I was blissfully unaware of what was going on with you at home.

I had said my good-byes before I left New Zealand, but I had never prepared myself for this day.

You were such an amazing lady and I will miss you so much, there is nothing that I want more than to come home and see you one last time before you are put to rest with Poppa.
To come home and support Mum and the rest of our amazing family but I know you understand that I cant, and you know Ben is here for me and being the most supportive amazing person that he always is- I am also so glad you got to meet him and that you loved him.

I will always hold millions of memories of you, of all our Christmas' and holidays up north at your place, and all your visits to us.
I will always cherish the last few years of you living just down the road from Mum, I will never forget the look on your face when I came to visit you, the smile I would get that truly warms my heart.. and the heartfelt 'thank you' I would receive when I would leave like you really appreciated my time- it was always a pleasure.

I love that you gave me heritage to be proud of and raised a little girl into an amazing woman who I get to call my Mum.

I love you so much and it really breaks my heart that it was your time to go while I was so far away, I would have loved to have just one last hug and kiss, tell you one last time that I loved you.
But it was your time and Poppa has waited 22 years to see his wife again, and that makes me happy.

I love you Grandma, for the love you had for all your 20 something grand and great- grandchildren. You would tell anyone who would listen how amazing we all were.

Love your youngest Grandchild (something I was always so proud to be)
Rest in peace you amazing lady.
