On the 12th of July Ben and I flew to Athens, to start our holiday. It was a tiring start, having a 5 hour stop over in Rome, but we got there.
And it sure was a holiday to remember! 7 days of sailing the med! Medsailors offer a 7 day 6 island sailing cruise, on boats of 10. We had breakfast in the morning, swims on the way to each island followed by lunches. We were fee to explore and do what we wanted in the afternoons, then meet up for dinner.
Being in a group of 40 it was pretty awesome, chaotic and I wouldn’t change a thing!
We stayed in a hotel by the beach the night before our sailing journey began, and it was bliss, we had a nice king sized bed which made a change to our ¾ double at home. The air was warm and the water was refreshing, within an 2 hours of being there I had already been for my first swim- I remember feeling so calm and relaxed, you don’t know how much you miss something till you can’t have it.
Ben and I went out for dinner that night, to a local Greek restaurant. Big call but it was the best dinner date we have ever had. The food was to die for, the service was fantastic, and the company was second to none.
After drinking our jug of wine he headed home for a night of rest- calm before the storm??
Day one we boarded our yacht’s, 5 of them in total- 4 of which were friends, did I hear you say carnage?!

Once settled in we headed off to Perdika, those first 3 hours were bliss. Bikini’s on, sunbathing and drinking in the warm fresh air. Each day on the way to our destination we would have swim stops, rock jumping was the theme for this day.
We arrived at Perdika, for a huge group meal.. it was delicious, and from what I can remember of the evening we had a great night.
Each morning Alice our skipper prepared us breakfast, once that was done we would set sail for the next destination.

Day two we arrived at Ermioni, it was a small island that took about 5 minutes to walk across, Medsailors put on a cocktail evening, and we all enjoyed more delicious Greek food. Another day, another set menu- when all I wanted was crayfish, I can’t complain though really everything was amazing!

After dinner we all went to a bar- a real Greek bar even the greasy old men undressing you with their eyes.
After a few hours of dancing and drinking I put myself to bed, ready for day three.

Day Three saw us head to Spetses, which I think was my favourite island of them all.
About 20 of us hired scooters and quads, we hired a quad and explored the island for a few hours. Some of us had a swim at one of the little beaches, and went all the way around and the views were just amazing. It was such a cute little town.
We had another dinner which was at a lovely restaurant about 5 metres from our boats. Another yummy meal, I had the seared Tuna and it was to die for!

After dinner we headed to a cool roof top bar for cocktails, and then home for an early night.. Everyone was about ready for a bit of a sleep in!
Day four and another muesli and Greek yoghurt breakfast, with freshly baked local bread. We were off to Hyrda,

Hydra was spectacular! The views were so picturesque and it had such a village feel to it, we moored late, so had more swims, got ready and caught a water taxi over to the main town to head to the sunset bar to see the best sunset in Greece. Unfortunately there were loads of clouds which meant that the sunset wasn’t at its best, but was surely impressive!
After three delicious cocktails, basking in the sunset and chatting with great friends it was time to head back to the boats for a few drinks.

Day five and very rough seas meant we set sail to Poros early in the morning,
We arrived at Poros first and disembarked for some exploring while waiting for the others. It was game 3 of State of Origin, so a few of us found a café to watch the game, afterwards we walked up to the clock tower, and headed back to the boat, only to find it gone.. the port was too rough so everyone was a few bays around.. not that I minded the walk, I came across the most beautiful cemetery!
We met up with the group in a bay where the water sports were, Ben went biscuiting, and I wanted to go parasailing but unfortunately there were too many strong gusts for it to be safe.
After a bit of water sport fun, we all went back to our respective boats and got ready for a seafood feast for our second to last dinner.
This was the best dinner of the week, Ben and I shared a seafood platter which had sword fish, prawns, mussles, octopus, tuna, calamari and a load of chips.

| Drinks on our yacht pre- dinner |
It was a brilliant day, we sat poolside at a hotel, and chilled out for hours, soaking up the last of the sun! we were having one last dinner as a group, a slow cooked beef dish cooked with love by a Greek family, the food was awesome, but the party was even better… we had a toga party to celebrate the last night. Something about dressing up makes everything so much fun. Not to mention Hanna bringing 80 glow sticks to spice it up even more!
Over all the week was amazing, everyone on our yacht was really cool, and super chilled out. We chilled out and sunbathed during the day, and ate good food and partied at night. It was such a great experience which I would love to do again.
It was a great way to say good bye to those who are leaving London, and a great way to welcome those just moved over.
After leaving the boat, we checked into our room with Vanessa and Jason, Ben and I were flying out the next day, so even though we were tired we made the effort to explore Athens- I was pretty glad we did, it was so amazing seeing the ruins, things 300 BC is pretty speechless!
